Understanding Sotalol (Betapace)

Sotalol is dosed by the QTc on your ECG. Under 450 is the safe range to start, 450 to 500 means we watch closely, and 500 or higher means the dose comes down or the drug stops.

This is a free, plain-language patient education guide written by Rias Ali, MD, FACC, a board-certified interventional cardiologist. Every guide is grounded in current peer-reviewed evidence and major society guidelines, organized in a way patients can actually use during a visit.
