PalpitationsAn awareness of your own heartbeat. You may feel a flutter, a skipped beat, a flip-flop, or a pounding. Palpitations are a symptom, not a diagnosis. Causes include harmless extra beats, anxiety, caffeine, or thyroid problems.
PVC — premature ventricular contractionAn extra beat from the lower chambers (ventricles). It fires before the normal beat arrives. PVCs look wide and different on an ECG.
